Many Americans fans of Yu-Gi-Oh think they have watched all the original episodes. However many of them are probably leaving out the very first Yu-Gi-Oh season, Yu-Gi-Oh season zero. Most casual fans would have never heard of this, as the series never made it to America. Season zero is almost a different anime than the Yu-Gi-Oh most people grew up with.
As highlighted in a previous post many things changed including Seto Kaiba's hair color.
Now many of you may be wondering why the series never made it to America that's simply because it was
to violent. Unlike the other Yu-Gi-Oh series there was almost no Duel Monsters. Instead Yami used his powers to challenge people to Yami No Game(shadow game). Where he would task people with completing tasks, when they would inevitably fail he would "sentence" them to gruesome torture. Such as burning them alive or being eaten.
